We have to admit, even though Pokken Tournament may not be the Wii U Pokemon game we were hoping for, we are still pretty excited for it.
Not only is this the best looking Pokemon game to date, but it also lets you really feel like you’re in the middle of a battle. Even though this is a fighting game, it should still be on many of your radars. After viewing the first HD Pokemon characters, your mind will go wild anticipating future titles when Nintendo launches the NX soon.
In additional news, this will also mark the first game on the Wii U to use every single amiibo. Nintendo’s official website states that Pokken Tournament is “compatible with all amiibo accessories unlocking in-game items.” While we wish we knew more about these “in-game items,” it is nice to know that we can finally dust off our amiibo.
Also noted is information we discovered previously through a Nintendo Direct. Each boxed copy of the game will come with a Shadow Mewtwo amiibo card that you can use to unlock the character from the beginning of the game.
More From Nerd Much?:
Pokken Tournament is available for pre-order and will release on March 18. Additionally, there is also a special controller available to use with the game, but it should be noted that it cannot be used when playing local multiplayer.
