Playstation’s Shawn Layden announced the delay today on the Playstation Blog. He said, “In an effort to meet the considerable worldwide demand, and to ensure that all gamers worldwide have the opportunity to play the game on day one, we have chosen to postpone the launch of the game by two weeks to allow for extra manufacturing time.”
With a new release date of May 10, we can’t help but be a little relieved about the delay. The game is being wrapped up on time, but the game is clearly getting way more pre-orders than they were expecting. This is good news for such a highly-regarded series.
“We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest.” Layden adds. “The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.”
While we ultimately wish we weren’t hit with another Uncharted 4 delay, we can’t help but appreciate that we’ll at least be plaything the multiplayer stress test this weekend. If you own a PS4, we highly suggest you join in.
And so you won’t have to wait any longer, you can pre-order the game from here.
