In an announcement from Tim Schafer and Double Fine, the upcoming remaster will be released on March 22 for $15.
The original Day of the Tentacle released by LucasArts back in 1993. It is a time-traveling, cartoon puzzle adventure game that lets you play as three different characters to prevent a mutated tentacle from taking over the world.
In this new version, you can switch between the new and old graphics at the press of a button. You can also swap the audio and user interface to create whatever combination you prefer. Just like with Grim Fandango, you can also listen to a recorded commentary track with the game’s original creators. We highly suggest you check that one out since you get to learn more of the behind-the-scenes development without it feeling obtrusive to the game.
More From Nerd Much?:
Also included is the same easter egg found in the original. Within the game is a fully playable version of the predecessor Maniac Mansion. So if you think about it, you’re really getting two games for the price of one!
We admit that not everyone is as in love with adventure games as we are, but if you’re at all interested, we highly suggest you pick up Day of the Tentacle: Remastered when it releases March 22 for PC, MAC, and PS4.
