Who could guess that the year’s best sports game would put players behind the wheels of rocket powered cars? First we had soccer, then we got hockey, now we have basketball in the form of Rocket League Hoops.
In a post from Rocket League’s Twitter account, Psyonix writes, “March Madness is just around the corner. Great time to tease the mode we’re working on next.” Better yet, they included the above screenshot of the upcoming mode.
In the image, you can clearly see the existing goals have been replaced with large, suspended hoops. This will definitely shake up the way people play by forcing them to focus more on the aerial aspect of the game.
Last year, Rocket League put hockey into the mix with the Snow Day playlist. Since this was a free update, this leaves us hopeful for similar pricing on Hoops.
All this extra content is thanks to the resounding success the game has seen since it first was released for the PS4 and PC. Even after the game was released much later on the Xbox One, it still garnered over one million players in just three weeks.
Rocket League Hoops sounds just crazy enough to get us jumping back into the game. Hopefully we’ll see you on the court. If you have been waiting for more content to start playing, you can find the game here.
