Our favorite turtles have been coming back in a major way recently. They have a successful show, a few comic books, and now we have a release date for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan.
According to a trailer released by IGN, Platinu Games’ TMNT game has been given the release date of May 24, 2016.
This new trailer for the game highlights a few of the boss battles you’ll find in the game including Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, Karai, and Shredder. You can see the footage for yourself below.
As you can see, the turtles are looking fantastic with their stylized, cell-shaded look. Just like with Transformers: Devastation, Platinum has proven that they can bring the greatest cartoon, action shows to life. The gameplay looks to be enjoyable as well with you taking control of all four turtles with varying fighting styles. Alternatively, you can also join together with three other friends to take on the baddies.
Before we get too excited, we should remember that Platinum has a spotty past with existing franchises. Most recently, they knocked it out of the park with their Transformers game. However, before that created a terrible adaptation of The Legend of Korra. Both are highly regarded franchises, but they are on opposite ends of the spectrum in regards to quality.
We’re definitely hoping Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan plays as good as it looks. If only May 24 didn’t feel so far away.
