In an interview with Mashable, Telltale has confirmed that a third season of the popular series is in development. This is no surprise since this series put the studio on the map as a sign of quality. While information will be revealed later in the year, they promised that at least one episode will be releasing before the end of the year.
One problem that is arising is that many players have upgraded consoles since the release of the first season. This causes issues with a series that uses previous save files to shape your story in future seasons.
Telltale is hard at work on a solution. “We didn’t have the cloud services in Season 1 that we have now,” says CEO Kevin Bruner. “So we’re going to have a solution for everybody that we’re not talking about yet.”
Earlier this month, Telltale confirmed that they are improving their engine. It will make its debut with the upcoming Batman series, but will be used with future titles moving forward. Hopefully this means smoother animations and fewer hiccups. This will go a long way to allow The Walking Dead Season 3 to get the most out of its emotional journey.
Check back in throughout the year as we find out more.
