Cyberpunk 2077 has been highly anticipated since it first revealed a teaser trailer back in 2013. Based on recent hirings, we may get to drive flying cars!
According to Gamespot, studio CD Projekt Red is looking for a vehicle gameplay programmer. The job posting is asking for someone who can “create the whole architecture of vehicle-related code and the physics of driving/flying in those vehicles.”
Additionally, the studio is looking for a vehicle gameplay designer to “create compelling vehicle-based gameplay.” As the posting reads, this would include the vehicle handling and controls, combat, and vehicle-based AI. Even the concept artist they are looking for is being tasked to produce conceptual designs for vehicles, machines, and weapons.
Cyberpunk 2077Â is scheduled to release within a pretty large launch window; at the earliest, the studio expects the game to release in 2017. Based on these job postings and how ambitious the studio appears to be, the 2021 end of the launch window seems much more likely.
“When we show it, we should show it and explain it,” says co-founder Marcin Iwinski. “So I’m going to have people not read anything about Cyberpunk probably for the next… time, whatever the time will be.”
We have high hopes that Cyberpunk 2077 will surpass our expectations. The studio has claimed it to be their most ambitious title yet. With the game spending so much time in development, we can honestly believe them.
