Madden 19 Cover Goes to Antonio Brown

We now know who has the honor of being your Madden 19 cover athlete. EA has announced that Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has been chosen as the game’s ambassador when it releases next month.

Brown has been regarded as the top wide receiver in the NFL for years now. And the wideout has never been shy about letting his personality shine, both on the field and off.

EA confirmed last month that Brown was part of this year’s “99 Club”, meaning the player will have a 99 rating when the game launches next month. He’s joined by just 6 other players; Tom Brady (QB, New England Patriots), Aaron Donald (DT, Los Angeles Rams), Rob Gronkowski (TE, New England Patriots), Luke Kuechly (LB, Carolina Panthers), Von Miller (LB, Denver Broncos), and Aaron Rodgers (QB, Green Bay Packers).

Within EA’s announcement, Brown released a statement confirming his excitement upon being selected for the Madden 19 cover:

“I am beyond honored to be on the cover of both Madden games. There’s a lot of milestones athletes dream of, and after being inducted into the Madden 99 Club earlier this year, and now appearing on the cover of this year’s games, it’s clear that business is not just booming, but I’m also among the all-time greatest with these honors.”

The other Madden game that Brown mentioned is the upcoming revamped version of Madden NFL Overdrive for iOS and Android devices. EA states that the mobile title has been “Rebuilt from the ground up to deliver a completely revamped football experience”.

EA touts the addition of Real Player Motion in Madden 19. Saying, “RPM technology will give fans even more control of in-game moves and immersive animations, making AB and other players’ move and act like their real-life counterparts as they charge through the game, showcasing their unique personalities, mannerisms, and of course, celebrations.”

The studio has also confirmed the sequel to Madden’s story mode with Longshot: Homecoming. You’ll have more control throughout the continued narrative based single-player mode this go around. It will feature “more NFL gameplay, more ways to impact the story, new storylines, and the ability to continue their Longshot journey within Franchise and Ultimate Team.”

You’ll see the new Madden 19 cover featuring Antonio Brown hitting shelves when the game releases on August 10th for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Those that splurge for the Hall of Fame Edition will gain access to the title three days earlier on August 7th.
