Overwatch Anniversary Event Begins Tuesday, May 23rd

As had been previously rumored, Blizzard has some celebration plans in place for Overwatch‘s one-year anniversary.

The Overwatch team has announced year two’s first event will be the Overwatch Anniversary Event, which will begin on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017. What we don’t know, at least as it stands right now, is what the new seasonal event will entail. It’s likely that it’ll be an entirely new game mode, complete with new skins, sprays, voice lines, and icons. More details to come on that as they come in.

On top of the event, there will also be an Overwatch Free-Weekend from May 26-29, with the entire roster of heroes and maps available. Players will be able to level up and earn loot boxes, and anything they unlock along the way will carry over to their accounts if they decide to purchase an account afterward.

Of course, we already knew about the Overwatch: Game of the Year Edition that had been previously announced, but Blizzard restated it in the press release we received. So, you know, so will we, I guess.
