Announced during Bethesda’s E3 2018 conference, the publisher’s take on a mobile version of The Elder Scrolls series had fans cautiously excited. Beginning today, many will get to see if the game turns out to be the real deal. The studio announced that The Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access version has gone live.

The title is currently only available to those playing on Google’s Android devices. The Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access version is expected to hit the Apple App Store tomorrow.
Bethesda isn’t allowing for everyone to make a mad dash into the game though. Once the title is downloaded onto your mobile platform of choice, you’ll then sign up to get a notification as to when it’s your turn to hop in. An invitation will then be sent your way when you eligible to access The Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access version.
As for the game itself, Bethesda describes it as “a classic dungeon crawler reimagined.” You’ll create a character, go on quests, rebuild your city and solve an ancient mystery within the adventure. There’s also an endless dungeon known as the Abyss that will test your merit and reward you accordingly.
As for the story, the publisher hasn’t said much. They tease that the narrative revolves around The Blades, known to be the top agents of the Empire. Bethesda says the group was eventually forced into exile, and upon their return, find their homeland completely destroyed. We’ll find out how within the game itself.
With just over two months between us and Bethesda’s E3 2019 press conference, that looks to be a good amount of time for the publisher to work out some of the kinks that end up emerging within The Elder Scrolls: Blades Early Access version.
Then on stage, we’ll likely here about a full release for the game and what the future of it may hold. The team is promising long-term support, saying that they “have a lot of new features that we will add to Blades after launch, including the Arena.”
