Netflix is adding another original comedy series to its already extensive exclusive list. The studio has announced the show will be called Living With Yourself and features Paul Rudd as the series’ lead.

The show revolves around Rudd in his role as “a man struggling with his life.” The character “undergoes a novel treatment to become a better person, and finds he’s been replaced by a new and improved version — revealing that his own worst enemy is himself.”

When Netflix states that Rudd’s character has been replaced by a new and improved version of himself, they mean it quite literally. In Living With Yourself, Paul Rudd is actually playing dual roles. One as our original, struggling man. And the other as his “own worst enemy” following his radical treatment.

Today’s press release states that Rudd will star in Season 1 of Living With Yourself. We’ll have to wait and see how the show is formatted to allow for Rudd’s exit. Season 1 will consist of 8 episodes.

Timothy Greenberg, formerly of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, is listed as the creator, showrunner, and one of the executive producers on the series. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will direct the 8 episodes. Faris previously directed the Academy Award nominated Little Miss Sunshine.

Rudd’s been no stranger to Netflix’s exclusive properties. He reprised his role as Andy in 8 episodes of Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. He played Andy again in 6 episodes of Netflix’s Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Year Later. He was also a prominent part of Duncan Jones’ Netflix exclusive film, Mute earlier this year. His team up with Netflix in Living With Yourself will likely hit the platform late next year or early 2020.
