Edge of Tomorrow Sequel Has Its Writers

edge of tomorrow sequelAn Edge of Tomorrow  sequel is in the works, and it has already found its writers. Time to live, die, and repeat all over again.

According to Deadline, Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse have been signed on to write the follow-up to Tom Cruise’s sci-fi movie. After getting Jesse Owens’ biopic, Race, produced, the duo have been in high demand. Most recently, they worked together on a rewrite of The Gray Man at Sony. This is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Mark Greaney.

Edge of Tomorrow was the definition of a sleeper hit in America. While it received much critical acclaim, it wasn’t a domestic box office hit. It even changed its title to Live Die Repeat. upon its release to DVD and Blu-Ray. Eventually, the movie hit $100 million in the US. More importantly, the movie was a big hit internationally with an additional $270 million.

What makes an Edge of Tomorrow sequel intriguing is that the original fit pretty well with itself. The story wrapped up with very few loose ends. We aren’t sure how they will pull it off or where the story will go, but we are happy to see more of this world. Not to mention, Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise had an incredible amount of on-screen chemistry.

If you haven’t seen it already, we really suggest you watch Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow. You can find the Blu-Ray here.
