According to ComicBook.com, the X-Force movie (still untitled) now has Joe Carnahan as director and script writers that include himself and now executive producer Ryan Reynolds. As a friend once said, “Ryan Reynolds is Deadpool” so who better than to write the script for a movie that the character features in. ComicBook.com also says that “work has already begun between the two on the film.”
For those unsure, Carnahan was not involved in the original Deadpool movie, however is best known for The Grey, and his “resume extends to The A-Team, The Blacklist, and Smokin’ Aces. He is also in line to direct the upcoming Bad Boys for Life film with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence returning to the franchise after years of Michael Bay running the saga.”
Keeping in mind that the Deadpool sequel (also untitled) is probably coming out before this X-Force movie, which Reynolds is also working on. The producer and writer has also expressed “his desire for the X-Force film to follow Deadpool and Logan’s lead (both films from 20th Century Fox) and release under an R-rating, allowing more room for coarse language, violence, and nudity.” It wouldn’t be Deadpool without an R-rating, after all.
Is Reynolds really a good choice to write X-Force in addition to Deadpool? Let us know in the comments below!
