Aquaman Movie Release Date Delayed to December 2018
Yet another DC movie has been delayed, as Warner Bros. announced this afternoon that the Aquaman movie will now be releasing on December 21, 2018.
The news comes via Entertainment Weekly, who also notes that the Christmas release shows Warner Bros’ confidence in the upcoming superhero movie.
The Aquaman film will star Jason Momoa in the titular role, alongside Nicole Kidman, Amber Heard, and Willem Dafoe. We also know that Yahya Abdul-Mateen will play the role of Black Manta, the villain in the movie.
Aquaman is directed by James Wan, acclaimed director of the SAW, Insidious, and The Conjuring franchises. It is written by Will Beall.
Interestingly enough, we also know that there’s some sort of Aquaman game in the works, as concept art leaked in January. Whether it’s a mobile game or not remains to be seen, but it would be interesting to see if the game will have to shift release dates as well.
As it stands right now, DC’s only competition for that weekend in December is the upcoming Miles Morales animated Spider-Man film.
