According to The Leaky Cauldron, Universal Orlando Resort has announced that Christmas is coming to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter this year. There will be decorations, fake snow, and a light show.
The decorations will be covering every inch of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley, to match the holiday-themed food, drink, and entertainment. All inspired by the lore of the books, of course, as I don’t believe anything unusual was mentioned specifically for any of the Christmas’ celebrated at Hogwarts or the Weasley’s.
The light show is the highlight of the announcement however, as senior director of entertainment Michael Aiello states that Hogwarts castle will undergo quite the transformation. Projection mapping and special effects will bring the castle to life and truly make anyone’s visit positively magical.
Christmas at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will begin November 18th 2017 and run until January 6th 2018. For details and tickets, be sure to visit the Universal Orlando website.
It’s something every Harry Potter fan should go see at least once in their lives. As such, if you can’t make it this year I’m sure Universal will be swimming in the money they make from this event, so there this will likely be a annual thing you can plan for.
