The Dark Tower: Teasers Clips, Posters, And Trailer Tomorrow

From Stephan King’s Facebook, we have two new posters, and from Twitter we have two short clips and an announcement that a trailer will come tomorrow for The Dark Tower. The two posters are of Idris Elba (as Roland Deschain/The Gunslinger) which states “one sworn to protect it,” and the other is of Matthew McConaughey as the Man in Black and says “one sworn to destroy it.” Certainly a beautiful depiction of the good and evil dichotomy, because what is it to be villain than to have a perspective different from most others? Either way, both characters look pretty slick. The Dark Tower: Teasers Clips, Posters, And Trailer Tomorrow

The two teasers are fairly exciting as well. The first posted by Matthew McConaughey, shows his character walking through a snow covered battlefield and saying the words: “the war is over, you know what’s coming. The Tower will fall.” It feels as though this is a line from a conversation with the protagonist, like the Man in Black is threatening him.

The second teaser is posted by Elba, and shows his character in what looks like the aftermath of a fire (nice contrast to snow). As he loads his gun in an utterly unrealistic way, he says “I do not kill with my gun, I kill with my heart.” Boy, who is really the villain in this movie? Isn’t that phrase a bit dark for someone who is supposed to be on the good side.

The Dark Tower will be coming on August 4th, 2017.
