First Godzilla: King of the Monsters Trailer Is Incredible
Long Live the King
When it comes to monsters there’s no bigger name than Godzilla. Today we finally got our first look at his newest film during Warner Brother’s San Diego Comic-Con Panel. Titled Godzilla: King of the Monsters, this movie continues the shared universe that 2014’s Godzilla and 2017’s Kong: Skull Island started.
Directed by Michael Dougherty, King of the Monsters seeks to bring us a whole collection of familiar and terrifying beasts for Godzilla to fight.
The story itself once again revolves around the crypto-zoological agency known as Monarch who come face to face with these terrifying beasts. While the first Godzilla film only teased some of his main nemesis, King of the Monsters has him going up against, Rodan, King Ghidorah, and Mothra. All three can be seen in the trailer, but one creature is curiously absent from all of the chaos. While King Kong is in this shared universe, we still haven’t seen this massive gorilla make an appearance yet. We suspect that Kong is in the film, but Warner Brothers are keeping his reveal a secret for moviegoers.
In the trailer itself, we get a ton of shots featuring Godzilla and the various monsters he is fighting. It’s clear that we see Godzilla as not only an ally but our only hope of stopping Earth from being demolished. Godzilla: King of the Monsters features Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Ken Watanabe reprising his role as Dr. Ishiro Serizawa.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set to release on May 31, 2019.
