Warner Bros. last published a full Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer back in December. Since then, we’ve been waiting for another in-depth look at the King’s return. Today, we’ve got it, with the newest Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer giving us our best look at the movie’s Titans yet.
There are fleeting moments of the movie’s cast on display in the new footage. We see a bit of Millie Bobby Brown’s Madison Russell. Kyle Chandler’s Dr. Mark Russell and Vera Farmiga’s Dr. Emma Russell are here for a moment too. As are Bradley Whitford, Thomas Middleditch, Aisha Hinds and O’Shea Jackson Jr.
But the real stars of the latest Godzilla: King of the Monsters Trailer are Rodan, Mothra and Ghidorah. All name dropped with the appropriate pronunciation too, which fans appreciate. And, of course, Godzilla himself.
The trailer begins with Rodan screaming through smoke filled skies chasing after a squadron of fighter jets. We then see snippets of Ghidorah and Mothra emerging from separate areas as well. In a bad ass moment, we see that Ghidorah is actually emerging from a volcano, roaring from atop it to declare his arrival.
We see moments of a battle between the three-headed King Ghidorah and Mothra. At one point it culminates with the former blasting the latter with a trio of electrical beams. Emma Russell declares that “our planet will perish, and so will we, unless we set Godzilla free.” And it doesn’t look like she gets much opposition.
The titular creature then enters the trailer with several poignant moments shown. “Good thing he’s on our side”, Bradley Whitford’s Dr. Stanton states. With another character, possibly O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s Barnes, saying “This is Godzilla’s world. We just live in it.”
The more and more we see from this movie, the more excited we get. Hopefully it crushes the box office when it launches on May 31st, then leading the way for Godzilla vs. Kong early next year.
