MCU Phase 4 Release Dates Announced

Disney announced their plans today which declared where its ridiculous array of films will be lining up over the next few years. We’ve got MCU Phase 4 release dates amongst other notable franchises such as Avatar. With movies in the latter series being set with release dates well into 2027.

The studio remained mum as to what is what amongst the MCU Phase 4 release dates. But through 2022 there are eight Marvel movies on Disney’s docket. Projects are set for the following dates:

  • May 1st, 2020
  • November 6th, 2020
  • February 12th, 2021
  • May 7th, 2021
  • November 5th, 2021
  • February 18th, 2022
  • May 6th, 2022
  • July 29th, 2022

A lot of these slots we can already theorize on. Black Widow and The Eternals are almost surely the first couple on the list. Likely to be followed by Shang-Chi. James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is certainly one of these projects. And sequels would fit well in this three year window for Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel.

It’s worth nothing that Spider-Man: Far From Home isn’t on Disney’s official 2019 schedule as the rights to the series is owned by Sony. So an inevitable third Tom Holland led movie could be coming in the aforementioned time frame, yet not be in the bunch of dates above.

Outside of the MCU Phase 4 release dates, we also got news on the future of Star Wars and Avatar know that the Fox merger is official. The two franchises will alternate owning Christmas through 2027.

The next Star Wars trilogy will hit theaters Christmas time 2022. It’s sequels then arrive Christmas week of 2024 and 2026.

Avatar 2 is now set to arrive December 17th, 2021. Followed by Avatar 3 in Christmas 2023, Avatar 4 Christmas 2025, and Avatar 5 Christmas 2027.

Other notable dates include the next Kingsman movie set for February 14th, 2020. The live-action Mulan arrives March 27th, 2020 followed by the live-action Cruella in December.

The New Mutants is now back on the calendar for April 3rd, 2020. There are three more untitled live-action Disney remakes arriving in 2021. As well as a Pixar film and the apparently still happening Indiana Jones 5.

2022 will see another duo of Pixar movies and four additional live-action Disney movies. Other than Avatar and Star Wars movies, that last film on Disney’s slate is yet another live-action project set for February 17th, 2023.
