The Batman solo movie is beginning to take shape as we finally have concrete information on the story. The upcoming movie with focus on a mostly-original story.
Rumors had been circulating between fans and publications about the untitled Batman solo movie from Ben Affleck. One that had been gaining traction was the Under the Hood arc from the DC comics. This is evident from Jason Todd’s Robin suit that shows up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Affleck, who is acting, directing, and co-writing the Batman solo movie with Geoff Johns, says otherwise. According to Comic Book Movie, he said, “I think what I would do, what I probably would do, is in some ways what Zack did with this movie, which is to borrow certain things from the great comic books, but create an original story around it because I wouldn’t want the fans to already know the story and be familiar, but I would borrow, steal, great things that have been done before in the comics.”
What is interesting about this quote is that it doesn’t outright deny the current rumors. He could very well use certain elements from multiple stories including Red Hood. For Batman v Superman, Snyder pulled elements from classic stories including The Death of Superman and The Dark Knight Returns.
We are pretty excited to see how this Batman solo movie turns out. While we admit that recent DC movies make us a tad nervous, we always keep an open mind for what’s to come. Keep checking back here as the news develops.
