Logan has been confirmed as the official title for Wolverine 3. Get ready for what looks to be the most emotional story the character has seen on film.
Along with the movie title, Logan has an official poster that was posted on director James Mangold’s twitter account. The poster shows a young hand holding onto the hand of Wolverine. Aside from his iconic blades, his hand is also covered in a number of scratches.
Mangold also released an image from his screenplay. Don’t worry about spoilers though. This is only the second page. Many of the details given provide little more than character context. Still, if you would like to go in blind, it would be best to turn away.
As the screenplay suggests, Wolverine is older. His years are finally catching up to him. He is starting to fade and his healing factor isn’t keeping up like it used to. In the script’s own words, it “keeps him in a constant state of chronic pain – hence the booze as a painkiller.”
We are definitely more curious about the events of Logan than we thought we would be. Wolverine has long been one of Marvel’s tent poles. Still, with X-Men movies varying in quality, we will have to wait until the movie releases before we can be sure of its quality. Luckily, we only have a few months left to wait. Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017.
