Creed’s Tessa Thompson, Power Rangers‘ Naomi Scott, and Mad Max‘s Zoe Kravitz are all in talks for the Han Solo female lead.
According to Variety, the Han Solo anthology film is circling its lead, and it has a few interesting frontrunners in the discussion.
Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have met with potential talent for the female leading role, which includes Thompson, Kravitz, and Scott. According to their sources, it will be a couple of weeks before any decision is made, but at least we now know who the frontrunners are.
The same source also says that the role of Calrissian, originally played by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the JEDI, is getting a second round of tests, although Donald Glover is still high on the list.
Production for the Han Solo anthology film is set to start in early 2017, and is currently slated for release on May 25, 2018.
For now, we don’t know much else about the upcoming Star Wars movie, but hopefully we’ll know more soon.
