aladdin live-action movieAccording to Deadline, Ritchie is currently in negotiations to adapt the Aladdin live-action movie. Penning the script is John August. Previously, August worked as a writer on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Big Fish.

Ritchie hardly needs an introduction, but you should definitely check out his previous works. Some of his most famous films are Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels. The films that gave him more of a general audience appeal were the two Sherlock Holmes movies with Robert Downey Jr. As for what he is currently working on, you can check out King Arthur: Legend of the Sword when it hits theaters this March.

The Aladdin live-action movie is another of Disney’s adaptations from animation. After the incredible success of The Jungle Book, there has been a lot of news releasing lately. Earlier today, we mentioned the news surrounding Mulan.

There is still a lot to find out about all these re-imaginings. With Beauty and the Beast coming up next, it will be interesting to see if Disney’s success streak continues. We sure hope it does.
