Admittedly, we were a bit worried when Legendary Pictures announced that they’d be tackling a Warcraft movie, not because we didn’t think Legendary couldn’t handle it, but because we thought the lore was so tough to tackle and translate onto the big screen. But after seeing the debut Warcraft movie trailer just now, we’re no longer worried, and, in fact, it’s now our most anticipated movie.
The debut trailer was released this afternoon at BlizzCon, and it left us with chills. Not only does the Horde look great on screen, the rest of the visuals follow right in line, and it feels like it’s going to be of the same quality as an Avatar movie.
Warcraft is directed by Duncan Jones, and will star Vikings’ Travis Fimmel, as well as Ben Foster, Paula Patton, and Toby Kebbell.
We’ll mostly let the first trailer speak for itself, but let’s all take a moment to appreciate that a video game that was a major part of our lives is now heading to the big screen for the first time ever, and it looks like it’s going to be a rare video game movie treat.
The Warcraft release date is set for June 10, 2016 (and you’d better believe it is one of our top picks for must see movies of 2016).
