The Spider-Man Homecoming trailer has officially been released after an incredibly short teaser. Actually, we technically got two. Both are worth a watch.
This first Spider-Man Homecoming trailer is the one that was shown stateside during Jimmy Kimmel Live last night. It gives us a taste of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Parker is portrayed as a modern nerdy kid with a wise-cracking webhead persona. We particularly enjoy how Holland plays both.
We all knew this wouldn’t be Spidey’s origin story since he already made his debut in Civil War. From what we can tell, director Jon Watts has done a good job with this. In Spider-Man Homecoming, Parker has returned home after aiding The Avengers. He’s having a difficult time getting back to his normal routine. As a new villain named The Vulture emerges, Parker feels the need to prove himself.
Michael Keaton plays a great villain here and it can really be appreciated more in the international trailer below. We get a much better look at the design of the character too. His look fits in with the grounded aesthetic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Whichever Spider-Man Homecoming trailer you prefer, it’s hard to deny it looks good. Even with a little too much Tony Stark, we can’t help but be excited for its release on July 7, 2017.
