Thomas Jane of The Punisher fame has been added to the cast of The Predator, the upcoming sci-fi reboot from FOX that’s being directed by Shane Black.
The news comes from THR, who notes that the details for Jane’s role have yet to be revealed. With the movie beginning production in February, the cast has begun to fill out quickly, with recent additions including Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Trevante Rhodes, and Sterling K Brown. Boyd Holbrook will take the lead.
Jane is certainly a recognizable name to most of us, having starred in 2004’s The Punisher and The Mist, as well as in Syfy’s The Expanse. Jane also recently starred in Before I Wake, and will soon be seen in Netflix’s 1922 movie.
Shane Black aims to make Predator the biggest film in the series yet, with FOX footing a big bill for a blockbuster production. Big budget sci-fi? Count us in. We also know that the movie will take place in present day
The Predator sequel (remember — Black says it is a sequel, not a reboot) release date is currently set for February 9, 2018, and it’s just one of the many potentially great big budget sci-fi films currently in the works.
