Dungeons and Dragons Movie Finds its Director

dungeons and dragons movieThe classic role-playing game Dungeons and Dragons is coming to theaters thanks to Warner Bros. Directing the upcoming movie is Rob Letterman.

Letterman’s previous work includes Monsters vs. AliensShark Tale, and more-recently Goosebumps.

According to The Tracking Board, the movie will focus on a warrior and his team of mystical creatures. These creatures include a half-dragon and a gnome. Working together, they are set on a dangerous journey to find a mythical treasure.

At the moment, no official casting has been given. Sources say that they are looking for a Vin Diesel-type for  the lead character. With Diesel being an avid fan of the game for over 20 years, casting him is not outside the realm of possibility.

Letterman’s most recent work, Goosebumps pulled in $150 million worldwide. With a budget of only $58 million, we call that a success. While not perfect, the movie was definitely an enjoyable ride for both  young and old fans alike. This gives us hope that the Dungeons and Dragons movie is in the right hands.

If you haven’t had the chance to try your hand at the game, we highly suggest you give it a try. While it can be a little intense at first, it is fun to create your own journey with little more than your imagination. To get started, pick up a copy of the Dungeons and Dragons: Player’s Handbook. If you want to ease into the experience, we suggest this Starter Set.
