Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 Releasing May 2017?

gods among us 2If current rumors are true, then we can expect an announcement for Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 very soon. After the success of the first, we’re excited.

According to French site Gameblog (translated by VG 24/7), the upcoming game might even get an announcement before E3 2016. Once again, the game comes from Mortal Kombat developers NetherRealm.

Unsurprisingly, Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 would be in development for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The game would use the same engine used in Mortal Kombat X and has en expected release date of March 2017.

The original released back in April of 2013 and performed well both critically and commercially. Even though it came from the same developer, this fighting game still differed greatly from Mortal Kombat. The game introduced transitioning stages that evolved based on the combat. Players could also use objects in the environment to fight one another. This is a mechanic that would be used again later in Mortal Kombat X.

The developer has been following a two-year cycle since 2011, so a March 2017 release for Gods Among Us 2 is not all that unlikely. Even if we don’t actually hear anything before E3, we can definitely expect to see something during the big event.

E3 takes place officially from June 14-16. Technically, the conferences begin on June 12, so check out our E3 2016 schedule to make sure you don’t miss any of the big press events!
