Captain Marvel casting has a new frontrunner for the titular hero. Brie Larson is currently in early talks to play one of Marvel’s biggest female superheroes.
According to Variety, Larson is currently their first choice for the Captain Marvel casting. Even better, Larson is supposedly leaning towards playing the part.
We think this would be a great move for the actress. Recently, she received the best actress Oscar for her role in Room. She has also appeared in notable titles like 21 Jump Street or Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The Marvel movies have been great for gaining notoriety, and we think Larson really deserves to have more people aware of her acting chops.
Marvel currently has no comment on the Captain Marvel casting.
More From Nerd Much?:
Currently, there is still no director set, but Marvel is likely looking for an actress now so she can cameo in one of the upcoming films. Writing the film is Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman.
If you’re still unaware of who Captain Marvel is, we’re here to help. Carol Danvers, an air force pilot, was in an accident that caused her DNA to fuse with an alien’s. This gives her the powers of strength, energy projection, and flight.
Other upcoming Larson films include Kong: Skill Island and The Glass Castle. If her previous films are any indication of her ability as an actress, than we can’t be any more excited for this Captain Marvel casting.
