LEGO Movie 2 Delayed into 2019

lego movie 2 delayedLEGO Movie 2 delayed another year. That’s not the good news I was hoping to receive on a Monday. Luckily LEGO Batman will have more breathing room.

Originally, the sequel was slated for a May 2018 release, but now with The LEGO Movie 2 delayed until February 8, 2019, we have plenty of time to wait.

Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the directors of the first film, are now back as producers. Rob Schrab will be taking over the director’s chair. Schrab is best known for his writing chops in movies like Monster House.

If you’re anything like us, 2019 is way too far away. Luckily, we wont have to wait nearly as long for the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie. Will Arnett will be reprising his role when the movie hits theaters on February 10, 2017. Additionally, the popular Ninjago series will be getting the movie treatment just a few days earlier on February 8.

The original LEGO Movie was a big surprise from Warner Bros. People assumed it was just going to be a simple cash-in, but instead it ended up being one of the most successful and critically acclaimed movies of 2014.

We admit that we didn’t enjoy hearing of The LEGO Movie 2 delayed until 2019, but at least we know we can expect something great. In the meantime, enjoy this trailer for the upcoming LEGO Batman Movie.
