Making a Murderer is getting a new batch of episodes on Netflix. Everyone’s favorite true-crime story is coming back with even more information from the case.
According to Netflix, the new episodes of Making a Murderer are already in production. Both series creators Laura Ricciardi and Moira Demos are returning for the new episodes. The show will continue the story of Steven Avery and the massive legal battle that surrounds his murder conviction.
“We are extremely grateful for the tremendous response to, and support of, the series,” Ricciardi and Demos said. “The viewers’ interest and attention has ensured that the story is not over, and we are fully committed to continuing to document events as they unfold.”
Netflix has yet to officially call these episodes “Season 2”. We imagine this means the series will last as long as Avery’s story, or that a second season would focus on a different case.
The new episodes will explore the story post-conviction and its consequences. They will offer a look at Avery’s newest lawyer, Kathleen Zellner, as well as co-defendant Brendan Dassey’s legal team.
Currently, there isn’t a specific timeframe for when we will see these new episodes of Making a Murderer. Also, we have yet to hear how many episodes there will be. We imagine these details won’t be available until the show is nearing completion.
