Playstation Plus Prices to Increase Starting in September

playstation plus pricesPlaystation Plus prices are about to change next month. Starting in September, you’re going to have to a pay a little bit more for those monthly games.

According to the Playstation Blog, the Playstation Plus prices will be rising on September 22 for both the year-long and three-month memberships in North America. Sony will be raising the yearly prices from $49.99 to $59.99 USD / $69.99 CAD and the three-month subscriptions to $24.99 USD / $29.99 CAD.

Monthly subscriptions will remain $9.99 in the US, but will rise to $11.99 in Canada.

“This marks the first time that PS Plus membership prices will increase in the U.S. and Canada since the launch of the service in 2010”, reads the statement. “The new pricing reflects the current market conditions while enabling us to continue providing exceptional value to our members.”

Currently, the Playstation Plus prices in the UK and Australian territories remain the same.

If you are worried about the new charges, Sony recommends that you turn off auto-renewal on your account before September 22. For now, you can still grab the original prices over on Amazon. We havealways felt like Playstation made the service more than worth the price. Even with the increase, we highly recommend you sign up. Hopefully Playstation Plus maintains its value.
