Acer has announced their latest new laptop, the extremely thin Acer Swift 7.
The new Acer Swift 7 not only measures just under 0.39 inches thick — making it the world’s thinnest laptop — but it also weighs under 3 pounds, coming in at exactly 2.48 pounds, making it highly portable. The battery life lasts up to 9 hours on a single charge.
The Swift 7 sports a black and gold colorway that provides an elegant look. The new Acer laptop also uses Corning Gorllia Glass for the ultimate scratch resistance for its 13.3-inch full HD IPS screen. It also contains a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor with a speedy 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. It’s able to deliver fast and reliable Wi-Fi with its 2×2 802.11acd MU-MiMO technology, and it has two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, which allow for quick data transfers and an external display.
The on-board webcam utilizes HDR (High Dynamic Range) — the same technology used in the new Xbox One S — to provide clear and colorful images.
This is Acer’s second major unveiling this week, as the company also announced their new line of Predator gaming monitors and the world’s first curved screen notebook.
The Swift 7 release date is set for sometime in October for North America, coming in at $999 USD. It will release in China later this month for ¥6,999.
Acer also has a couple of cheaper options, the Swift 5 ($749 USD), the Swift 3 ($499), and the Swift 1 ($249), although exact specifications are not yet available.
Acer Swift 7 preorders aren’t live yet, but we’ll update when you’re able to claim one.
