Justice League Movie to Feel “Hopeful and Optimistic”

justice league movieThe Justice League movie will feature a much different tone than DC’s Batman v Superman. Instead of dark and brooding, it will be “hopeful and optimistic.”

Earlier this year, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was released with incredible box office success. What wasn’t successful was its reviews among fans and critics alike. This negative reaction has supposedly influenced the upcoming Justice League movie.

During an interview with the Wall Street Journal, DC Films head Geoff Johns explained the issue with the approach Warner Bros. had previously taken. “Mistakenly in the past I think the studio has said, ‘Oh, DC films are gritty and dark and that’s what makes them different.’ That couldn’t be more wrong,” said Johns. “It’s a hopeful and optimistic view of life. Even Batman has a glimmer of that in him. If he didn’t think he’d make tomorrow better, he’d stop.”

Additionally, Warner Bros. executive Jon Berg explained their decision to merge the two Justice League films into one. “We accelerated the story to get to the hope and optimism a little faster,” he said.

We have to admit, we are a little worried about the upcoming DC movies based on what we’ve seen so far. Still, it’s too early to really get a feel for the Justice League movie before its release on November 17, 2017. We’re crossing our fingers though.
