Overwatch Winter Wonderland has arrived! The holiday event we’ve been waiting for is finally here. We are officially full of Christmas spirit.
From now until January 2nd, you can join in on all the holiday fun. For starters, loot boxes have been replaced with neatly wrapped presents full of over 100 new cosmetic items. Each winter loot box will guarantee at least one item from the Overwatch Winter Wonderland collection. These items include profile icons, sprays, victory poses, emotes, highlight intros, skins, and more. We’d like to point out that we also correctly predicted more than a few of the skins.
More From Nerd Much?:
What really matters though is the season event. Overwatch changed the game twice before with Lucioball and Junkenstein’s Revenge. Now it’s time for Mei’s Snowball Offensive. This is a 6v6 mix between dodgeball and snowball fights. Everyone plays as Mei but with a few new tricks.
Rather than a stream of frost, Mei’s blaster shoots a single, one-hit-kill snowball. After firing, she will need to reload at the nearest snow pile. This makes you an open target to other players. Luckily Mei’s ultimate allows you to fire snowballs like a semi-automatic. Your enemies will be crawling away for safety.
Whether you’re returning for the skins or for a new event to play, Overwatch Winter Wonderland is a great reason to jump back in. We hope Blizzard continues to add holiday events, even international, into the year. Chinese New Year anyone?
