I remember watching the first Resident Evil 7 trailer at last year’s E3. I remember how the trailer managed to terrify an entire audience of seasoned game journalists. The Beginning Hour made many feel sick, but time and stubbornness helped to ease the initial shocks. Now we have comprehensive reviews and will happily inflict the experience on the uninitiated.
Only to have Capcom build up more hype (and possibly scare customers away) with a live haunted house event in London. Resident Evil 7: The Experience celebrates the game’s release on January 24th and only lasts about 45 minutes. It will be held at London’s East End from January 20th to 23rd. The scenario, as described by the event’s site, relates to one of the video tapes in the Beginning Hour:
More From Nerd Much?:
“The Sewer Gators, a paranormal TV production team, is looking for intern reporters to help them investigate the disappearance of their missing crew… Following a storyline inspired by the brand new game, Resident Evil 7: The Experience recreates the Baker family house in a haunted venue in the heart of London’s East End and the Sewer Gators need your help! You will arrive at the Sewer Gators debrief area with a partner ahead of your assignment. You will then need to work together to collect hints, solve puzzles, and outsmart the Baker family as you search for the truth about your missing colleagues and try escape the house without going missing yourself.”
No, really, it’ll be fun I can tell. You basically get to reenact the demo for 45 minutes, what could possibly go wrong? I am personally far too weak-willed to even think of signing up for this, but good for Capcom on giving us a good reason to throw money at them. Are you brave enough to give this haunted a house a go? If so, please let us know how it goes in the comments below!
