According to Eurogamer, rumor has it that Edios Montreal is temporarily dropping Deus Ex not only in favor of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but of the recently revealed Marvel games with Crystal Dynamics. And one of those games, might just be Guardians of the Galaxy.
Eurogamer has stated that “at Eidos Montreal, a small team is currently aiding Crystal Dynamics’ Avengers project and, in the early stages of production on the second Marvel game based around Guardians of the Galaxy. This project will be lead by Eidos Montreal.”
There is no further information, of course, and at such an early stage we probably won’t hear more until at least next year.
Though it was confirmed that Eidos Montreal had planned a third game for the Deus Ex series in order to tie up some loose ends from Mankind Divided, it seems they’ll be left dangling for a little while longer.
More From Nerd Much?:
That’s not to forget the last DLC for Mankind Divided that is to come February 23rd as a prequel to the game. In addition, Square Enix wants to make it clear that despite this rumor it is:
“still working on expanding the Deus Ex Universe, along with creating new content and updates for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, we’re also devoting our talents towards working with Crystal Dynamics and Marvel on The Avengers project.”
