Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon Adds Dusk Form Lycanroc

Nintendo has announced that they will be adding another form to the Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon Lycanroc evolution. There are now Midday, Midnight, and Dusk forms of the little pocket monster. These Lycanroc forms are the evolved forms of Rockruff, a rock-type Pokémon, as the name implies.

The Dusk form has Tough Claws ability, which enable the Pokémon to increase the power of direct combat moves. In looks, the Dusk form is quite similar to the Midday form, save that its eyes will glow red when it attacks, much like the Midnight form. It is quite a calm Pokémon, opting for tranquility and obedience towards their Trainer. The Lycanroc isn’t overly chill though, as it is a passionate fighter and prefers close quarters combat.

The attacks Dusk form Lycanroc can learn include Accelerock and Counter, both of which the Midday and Midnight form are also capable of. Before this, only Midday could learn this move once it evolved from the Rockruff form. Counter, much like it sounds, is an ability that can deal double damage. Before the Dusk form came out, only Midnight form could do this.

Rockruff can be found in the normal way within a Pokémon game, but it takes a very unique Rockruff to evolve into the Dusk form. This special Rockruff can be acquired as a pre-order bonus if you buy Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon early. You will then receive your special Rockruff upon the game’s launch, November 17, 2017. If you’re not keen on being the early bird however, the wolf-rock will be available from release date to January 10, 2018. Nintendo did not mention if there will be more opportunities in the future of the game to acquire the special Rockruff that evolves into the Duck form of Lycanroc.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon will be coming to the 3DS exclusively, it is not a game for the Nintendo Switch.
