Game of Thrones RISK Game Announced

Game of Thrones riskFollowing the official special edition of Game of Thrones Monopoly, HBO and USAopoly are tag teaming for an official Game of Thrones RISK board game.

In Game of Thrones RISK, players will battle it out for control of the Seven Kingdoms and the Iron Throne. The game includes over 650 pieces with two custom game boards, seven sculpted armies, seven player boards and 28 character cards. Players can choose one of the seven Noble House armies, including House Martell, Stark, Baratheon, Lannister, Tyrell, Targaryen and Ghiscari.

The two custom game boards offer three different ways to play. One version of the game is a War of the Five Kings for 3-5 players, another version of the game is a 2 player game allowing players to contest the rule of Ghiscari slavers in Essos, and the third version of the game combines both maps for seven players total.

Character cards will be included with the game, allowing players to use the battle skills of four of the most powerful members of each house. The example given via the Wallstreet Journal is a Daenerys Targaryen card that can be played when delcaring an invasion, allowing users to replace the 6-sided dice with the 8-sided dice.

The Game of Thrones RISK game will also include Maester cards for tactical skills, Objective cards for completing conquests, Gold dragon coins to collect for wealth and purchasing power, and Territory cards that allow you to stake your claim on the lands you rule.

The game box is also an impressive addition to your Game of Thrones merchandise collection, as it includes silver-foil stamps of the House sigils, and army storage containers for organizing your armies.

The Game of Thrones RISK edition will be $74.95 and will hit stores in August.

You can pre-order the game here.
