The LEGO brand can do no wrong in our books. Every year, they come up with many cool new LEGO sets based on our favorite nerdy properties. This year, they’ve got a stellar new LEGO Harry Potter set based on the Whomping Willow tree that sits out in front of Hogwarts called the LEGO Hogwarts Whopping Willow Building Kit (#75953).
Now, for you muggles out there, the whomping willow is a violent type of magical tree that attacks anything that its branches can reach — the most famous of which sits at Hogwarts. It’s the same tree that almost took Davey Gudgeon’s eye in Prisoner of Azkaban.
LEGO’s newest Harry Potter building set not only comes with the buildable tree (with spinning branches), but it also includes the Flying Ford Anglia, complete with an opening truck and two opening doors. Also included in the kit are six Harry Potter minifigures: Ron, Hermione, Seamus, Argus, and Snape. The set also features a large section of the Hogwarts castle that stands at 10″ tall, 13″ wide, and 3″ deep.
It comes with tons of great accessories, including potions, cauldrons, suitcases, wands, candles, a Daily Prophet newspaper w/ magic spell page, broom, tables, chair, two inkpots, and more.
The set is 753 pieces and is recommended for 8-14 year olds.
