The Way is a new family drama from the executive producer of Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, Jason Katims. The show will revolve around Paul’s character, Eddie Cleary, who is a father and husband who converted to a provocative new religious movement many years ago. Now, Eddie is struggling with his beliefs.
Eddie’s wife will be played by True Detective’s Michelle Monaghan.
The Way will be 10 episodes and is set to be released at some point this winter exclusively on Hulu.
It’s clear that Hulu is attempting to rival Netflix’s impressive slate of original series, as the streaming service also has other big TV projects in the works, including one based on the works of Stephen King starring James Franco with J.J. Abrams involved. The Way sounds like it is going to be a good addition to Hulu’s original programming, especially since it is being helmed by the producer of FNL and Parenthood, which both happen to be incredibly well done family dramas.
Hopefully, we will get a The Way premiere date and trailer sometime soon. We will, of course, keep you all posted.
