The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is returning for a fourth season! The first six episodes will release May 30, 2018, and the rest will come later in the year. Season four will see Kimmy continue her journey through the 21st century, adapting both carefully and outrageously to her new surroundings.
The show has been nominated three times in the Emmy awards and has received fairly warm reviews from critics. Created by Tina Fey (known for her acting career and written work on Mean Girls and Sisters) and Robert Carlock (known for his work on 30 Rock and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot).
If you have not gotten around to watching the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt yet, it stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, Tituss Burgess as Kimmy’s roommate Titus Andromedon, Jane Krakowski as Kimmy’s former employer Jacqueline White, and Carol Kane as Kimmy’s landlord Lillian Kaushtupper.
All these characters are very loud and proud about who they are, unashamed about their flaws and deviant personality traits. Jacqueline White, for example, is a not at all ashamed of her trophy wife status and does her best to take advantage of it, even when the marriage goes sour.
Center stage, however, we have Kimmy Schmidt. She and three other women were a part of a Doomsday cult, hidden away from society by Reverend Richard Wayne Gary Wayne. They were rescued after 15 years of seclusion, believing the world to be destroyed outside of their shelter.
Once rescued, Kimmy refused to go back to the cult, determined to make a life for herself outside of the shelter she knew for so long. Kimmy is a very enthusiastic woman who takes just about everything in stride and tackles like with an infectious type of optimism.
