Elwes is known for many roles, including the cult classics Robin Hood: Men in Tights and The Princess Bride. But he’s also had substantial parts in Glory, Days of Thunder and Bram Stocker’s Dracula.
Cary Elwes is taking on the role of the mayor of Hawkins, Indiana – Mayor Kline. Netflix describes him as “Handsome, slick, and sleazy, Mayor Kline is your classic 80s politician — more concerned with his own image than with the people of the small town he governs.”
Jake Busey has been cast as a guest performer in the role of “Bruce”. Bruce is a journalist working for The Hawkins Post. Netflix labels him as having “questionable morals and a sick sense of humor.”
Jake Busey is the son of the infamous Gary Busey. He too has a extensive acting résumé. He has an upcoming role in Shane Black’s The Predator remake which is set for August. He’s also had recurring roles on Showtime’s Ray Donovan and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The series, created by The Duffer Brothers, brings back the rest of its now hugely popular cast for Season 3. Winona Ryder stars as Joyce Byers with David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper. Finn Wolfhard is Mike Wheeler with Noah Schnapp as his best friend Will Byers. Millie Bobby Brown rules the show as the Eggo loving Eleven.
Caleb McLaughlin plays Lucas Sinclair and Gaten Matarazzo kills it as Dustin Henderson. Natalia Dyer portrays Nancy Wheeler with Charlie Heaton as her love interest (on and off the set) Jonathan Byers. Joe Keery plays the fantastic Steve Harrington. And Dacre Montgomery and Sadie Sink play the new to Season 2 step-siblings Billy and Max.
The plot for Stranger Things Season 3 is a mystery at this point. However, we do know that the writer’s room has insisted that Lucas’ sassy sister Erica gets used much more frequently.
We’ll hopefully get a trailer for Season 3 during San Diego Comic-Con in July. And then a full release should follow on Netflix in October.
