Likely to be titled The Long Night, the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel appears to be coming along quite nicely. We’ve known of two of the potential series’ leads in Josh Whitehouse and Watts. But now HBO has apparently bolstered the cast even further by adding eight more names to the Game of Thrones prequel cast.
The new additions to the Game of Thrones prequel cast include Naomi Ackie who you’ll see in Star Wars Episode 9 later this year. Jamie Campbell Bower you may recognize from Sweeney Todd, Twilight or Mortal Instruments. Ivanno Jeremiah was a regular in Humans had was featured in an episode of Black Mirror. And Tony Regbo is someone you may have recently in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindewald.
That’s not all that was added to the Game of Thrones prequel cast though. Also confirmed is the Tony-nominated Denise Gough. And Sheila Atim, Georgie Henley and Alex Sharp round out the new members of the team.
With the Game of Thrones prequel cast expanding to this point, you would imagine that production on the show’s pilot episode should begin sometime soon. The script for it was written by A Song of Ice and Fire mastermind, George R.R. Martin, alongside his writing partner on the series, Jane Goldman. SJ Clarkson, will recently worked on Jessica Jones and HBO’s Succession, will direct.
