The Society Trailer Shows Us a Teen Ran Dystopia

Netflix is promoting one of its next upcoming series with their first The Society trailer. It depicts a bunch of teens transported to alternate dimension of sorts, and the chaos that ensues as they craft a society of their own.

The Society trailer is at times a party, and at others quite dystopian. Some thrive in the do as you please element that they’ve crafted. While others are just struggling to survive the threat of their peers when there’s no superiors or laws in which to guide them.

The synopsis for the series reads “The Society follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town without any trace of their parents. Their newfound freedom will be fun… but it will also be very dangerous.  As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive.”

The series is being helmed by showrunner Chris Keyser. He’ll also serve as executive producer alongside Marc Webb. Webb’s a name you may recognize from his directorial duties on 500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The cast on display in The Society trailer consists of a few names you may recognize. The full lineup includes Rachel Keller (Cassandra), Kathryn Newton (Allie), Alex Fitzalan (Harry), Kristine Froseth (Kelly), Jacques Colimon (Will), Sean Berdy (Sam), Toby Wallace (Campbell), Gideon Adlon (Becca), Olivia DeJonge (Elle), Alex MacNicoll (Luke), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Helena), Jose Julian (Gordie), Salena Qureshi (Bean), Jack Mulhern (Grizz) and Grace Victoria Cox (Lexie).

Overall, the series is described as a Young Adult mystery. These kids somehow transported themselves to their own world, and after things quickly go off the rails, many of them are desperate to get back. With 10 hour long episodes, the series begins streaming on Netflix May 10th.
