What is Zombieland About, Exactly?

Zombieland 2

Zombieland is a horror-comedy film about an apocalyptic infection that transforms normal people into flesh-eating zombies. Once people are bitten by a zombie, the infection spreads, and they become a zombie as well.

Columbus is a young nerd-boy who is haunted by many phobias, including clowns and bathrooms. His fear of the outside world has kept him alive since he has been able to avoid the zombies running amuck. In order to survive the zombie apocalypse, Columbus has made a list of rules to follow. Every time he shares a rule, the movie gives you a theatrical scene to envision it in action. Columbus goes on to find his parents to see if they are still alive.

He runs into a man named Tallahassee, who is a reckless redneck who spends his time killing as many zombies as possible and has an overwhelming addiction to twinkies.

They decide to travel together and join forces with a pair of sisters, Wichita and Little Rock. To their surprise, these girls might not be as innocent as they come off to be. Together, this band of strangers attempt to work together to survive the apocalypse and get a little creative on how to stay alive during this end-of-the-world thriller.

Zombieland is a comical relief to most zombie-themed movies. There is a good amount of bloodshed and gore to keep you spooked, but just enough comedy to leave you wanting more.

This film is rated R due to horror violence/gore and strong language, so this movie would be one for the kids to sit out on. Zombieland was released in 2009 and brought in around $100,000,000 worldwide.

It became a very popular spin on the zombie movie formula due to its quick pace and snarky scenes. It is a must watch this Halloween season, especially to prepare for the upcoming release of Zombieland: Double-Tap. The sequel is scheduled to be released this coming fall, and it is safe to say many will be patiently waiting to see what the characters have been up to 10 years down the road.

The star-studded cast is not one to miss. The characters are brought to life by the numerous well-known actors/actresses that are featured in this movie.

The main characters are played by the following: Columbus is played by Jesse Eisenberg, Tallahassee is played by Woody Harrelson, Wichita is played by Emma Stone, Little Rock is played by Abigail Breslin, and surprise guest, Bill Murray is played by Bill Murray!
