USA Network is two for two in our book with their new original series, as Mr. Robot was an undeniable hit, and now Colony is shaping up to be formidable, as the network has announced that the latter has been renewed for a second season.
According to THR, Colony Season 2 will have 13 episodes, three more than the Season 1 order. The news comes just three episodes into the debut season, showing that USA is placing a hefty number of chips on the new sci-fi series.
The series stars one of Lost‘s most beloved actors, Josh Holloway (Sawyer), and a member of The Walking Dead‘s cast, Sarah Wayne Callies, who played one of the show’s most hated characters, Lori. It’s set in the near future, centering on a family (Holloway and Callies) who try to survive in a dystopian world, fighting to get it back. The series was one of our most anticipated TV shows of 2016.
Colony‘s ratings have been steady, which is a good sign for USA’s new content initiative that was implemented last year, with the network removing such awful shows as Psych and White Collar and replacing them with more meaty and darker series, such as Mr. Robot (which we absolutely loved, by the way).
