New Overwatch comics are on their way thanks to a partnership between Blizzard Entertainment and Dark Horse Comics. Get ready in the months ahead!
For starters, Dark Horse has just begun republishing Blizzard’s 8-page digital Overwatch comics. Now you can find them on the Dark Horse digital comics service. The news comes from an announcement at Comic-Con 2016 (via IGN). With Overwatch #8 focusing on the newest character, Ana, now seems as good a time as any to jump right in.
Additionally, the new Overwatch comics will include a 100-page graphic novel coming in April 2017. So far, all we know about this project is that the book will follow the story of the original strike team.
For art lovers, you’ll be happy to hear that Dark Horse will later publish The Art of Overwatch, a coffee table book containing concept art and illustrations that have never been released. This book will be coming in Summer 2017.
More details are expected to be revealed during Blizzard’s Behind the Scenes of Overwatch’s Newest Hero panel. This takes place at the San Diego Comic Con tomorrow, July 21, at 6:30pm.
We are happy to see that Blizzard is continuing to build up the lore around this game through supplemental entertainment. If you want to check out any of the new Overwatch comics, you’re going to have to fight us for it.
