Warner Bros. has announced today in a press release that they are teaming up with GameStop for the Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes tournament. This is an eSports program, based on the game of course, that will allow aspiring and amateur players to take a crack at the cash prizes Warner Bros. is offering.
If you’re interested, mark your calendars for June 4th and get in on the online qualifier tournaments. Once you get through those, eight Regional Finals tournaments will begin at your local GameStop on August 12th of this year.
If you are lucky enough to win those too, you’ll be ushered into the Hometown Heroes tournament in Las Vegas at the GameStop Managers Expo on August 27th. For those it may concern, there is no mention if the trip is paid, so I imagine it would be safer to assume that it isn’t.
If you don’t already know, Injustice 2 is the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us, both top fighter games. Sharing a limelight with other games like Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, though it stands out for the many DC superheroes and villains it features. The game, to be released May 16th, 2017, boasts as much personalized characters as gameplay to suit your specific style. Injustice 2 will be the PS4 and Xbox One.
