A24 has caught our attention once more, as the rising horror production studio has released a brand new trailer for It Comes at Night, the upcoming horror film starring Joel Edgerton and Trey Edward Shults.
In the trailer, we see a man tied to a tree, being questioned by Joel Edgerton’s character about “what’s going on out there”. The trailer shows Edgerton (the father of the family) laying down the new laws of the house, noting that there is only going to be one way in and out of the house — through a red door. The trailer notes that “fear turns men into monsters”, and we’re then briefly shown a flesh eating monster of sorts. At the very end of the trailer, that red door that is supposed to keep everyone safe is being broken down. As far as trailers are concerned, it’s one of the better ones we’ve seen recently.
It Comes at Night will hit theaters on June 9, 2017 and it will star Shults, Edgerton, Riley Keough, and Christopher Abbott. The film is directed by Trey Edward Shults, whose only other listed credit is Krisha, a dramedy that released in 2015. But if the trailer is anything to go by, Shults knows what he’s doing.
It should be no secret that we here at Nerd Much? are big fans of zombie movies, and although this film appears to not be a zombie flick by definition, it certainly has the post apocalyptic, monsters-come-out-at-night vibe to it. We’ll definitely keep an eye on this one.
